7 Things I Learned From Bhad Bhabie's Snapchat Reality Show
I'm kind of ashamed to be writing this, I won't lie. But there's something just so addictive about watching reality shows of people who just don't live in the real world; like a car crash, you just can't look away.
Bhad Bhabie, a.k.a Danielle Bregoli, a.k.a the "cash me ousside" chick, has taken her 15 minutes of fame and turned it into a successful music career, which you have to applaud at least at some level. Her life is now a reality show, available to watch only on Snapchat, and for some reason on a Tuesday night I found myself watching the whole thing.
It's not long - each episode is only about 5-10 minutes - and it's crazy addictive, I'll warn you now. Danielle is a mess of a human being but she definitely has something about her that helps me understand just why she's famous. Let me give you seven things this reality show taught me about Bhad Bhabie.
1. She was moved to Hollywood as a last resort
Something I didn't know about Danielle is that she didn't choose to move to L.A. on her own. She was scouted by her current manager after Dr. Phil and she was moved to L.A. She accepted the offer because she didn't have any other options - she was living on the floor of a trailer when they asked her to move.
2. She actually writes her own lyrics
The rapper may come across like an idiot, but behind all the attention-seeking, tantrum-throwing bullshit, she seems relatively switched on and she does write her own lyrics. Not that we're saying 'Gucci Flip Flops' deserves a Pulitzer, but she is only 15 with a Platinum record and sellout international shows, so we've gotta give credit where credit is due.
3. She's good friends with Kodak Black
So much so that she babysits his dog 'Zeze' in one episode. She was supposed to have the dog for three days, but barely lasts one night.
4. That voice is only semi-fake
When she starts talking properly, Danielle's voice is still filled with that familiar twang we have come to expect from her. She definitely amplifies the sounds, but her accent is halfway there.
5. She knew XXXTentaction well
Danielle knew XXX well enough that his death affected her, and their last conversation was a big fight. At her concerts, she does tributes to him as her friend.
6. Her relationship with her mother is worse than you think
As showcased on Dr. Phil, the relationship between Danielle and her mum is rocky at best. They are constantly in screaming fits, accusing each other of stuff and saying some pretty hurtful things. Danielle is actually much closer to her bodyguard than her own mother.
7. She is exactly the same as you'd imagine
High energy, doesn't give a fuck - Danielle is exactly the same on her reality show as you would expect her to be. At the end of the day, she is just a kid who has been thrown into a whole new world that she doesn't understand with people she doesn't really trust. When you dig a bit deeper - you start to at least partially understand why she is the way she is.
