Metro Boomin In Brisbane
Hip hop is now officially the biggest and most popular music genre on the planet. So it’s no surprise that when the number 1 producer in the game, Metro Boomin, brought his headline show to Brisbane, the city turned out in force. The Boominati member performed at the The Tivoli on Sunday night and it was a show you wish you where there for.
The night started off right with a set full of bangers from one of Wavey’s resident DJs and followed by local act Dameela. ANH, an up and comer in the Australian producer scene brought the energy up a notch. With a set packed of hip hop, new age and soulection type sound to the growing crowd was really feeling the vibe.
The stage was then blessed by one of Brisbane’s premier talents, Carmouflage Rose. C.Rose electrified the crowd with a high octane performance littered with big tracks. From the lines of ‘Dreams’, ‘Rockstar’ and the crowd favourite ‘Late Nights’ which crushed it on the Triple J Unearthed charts in late 2017.
With the crowd surging and chanting his name, Metro Boomin finally took the stage. His set was filled with hits and the depth of his catalogue when played back to back was mind blowing.
Anthems like ‘Ric Flair Drip’, ‘Bad n Boujee’ and ‘Jumpman’ had the moshpit on another level and it was easy to realise how prolific Young Metro has become in this new era of hip hop and production.
Metro’s track record speaks for itself and his first solo headline in Brisbane was definitely one for the books. If anyone in the crowd had doubts on who was number 1 in the game right now, his killer set definitely showed why he holds the crown.
